FUTURE
AN ART
BASED
RESEARCH
PROGRAM
The seed of this art based research project probably dates all the way to my childhood. Born of inexhaustibly optimistic parents I never really vibed with end of the world type of movies, nor did I understood growing up why we had such a fascination for them.
Few years and a little more understanding of the Human psyche later left me with this daunting question : what if our collective unconscious and the stories we feed ourselves become our inevitable future ?
If this is true then of course we are fulfilling prophecies and every dystopian tale seem to come to life. But then what if we could change the narrative ? I don’t mean taking on a preconceive narrative and I believe we live in unprecedented times which call for our unprecedented attention and imagination.
FUTURE IS ALWAYS A QUESTION OF THE IMAGINATION, this has come from my own process and is known deep within my bones. And life showed me that there is no choice but actively resist despair and in a way co create our destiny.
For those of us a bit hesitant to embark on such a journey of exploration, the good news is CHAOS IS THE VERY FERTILE SOIL OF CREATION. So as these times are calling, I propose to roll up our sleeves, get our hands dirty, our bodies and imagination moving, and explore the question of Desirable Futures together.
This group will run for a minimum of one year at the end of which there will be a first publication of art work and datas, and maybe an online exhibition.
The sessions are donation based from 5€. Funds go toward some of my time into sorting, analyzing, making sense and writing the research project, publishing the research and preparing the online exhibition. I welcome any assistance from participant curious to explore this side of the work (which is still new for me).
Donation depending the participation will also go toward funding multidisciplinary artists who will take our collective work further into residency and creation.
