This workshop as part of the international Expressive Arts Egypt festival off is an exploration aiming to reconnect us to place and origin, to soil and soul so we can make society.
This will mean so many things for so many of us.
The lens through which we'll approach it is nature-based and ecosomatics, so we will intent to move pre-cultural as nature preceeds culture and survives it. Not as yet another way to erase culture, but as a way to find what's meaningful and useful to carry on and into a future we belong to.
Nature carries the mystery of our origin, and of our future, if we are willing to listen. So we will be embarking on a journey, through soil, earth, smell, deepening through our roots to meet this one common ancestor we all have across and beyond cultures : FIRE.
We will enquire, through bodies and imagination, in which way fire helps us see clearer and further into what sometimes seems like a dark future. How can pre-cultural inform culture ? how can your newfound roots extend and blossom ? what does belonging to our future means ?
